Imran Khan is a musician, playing mostly solo acoustic instrumental guitar.
He started on the electric guitar, but upon hearing Tommy Emmanuel for the first time, hung up his solid-body for good in favour of the humble acoustic. Since then he's been honing his craft, drawing inspiration from a wide variety of sources.
Imran is know for his passionate and inspired performances. A common description of his playing is that 'he makes the instrument sound like everything but a guitar'.
Imran Khan's repertoire is characterised by a special variety. Whether it's a Ray Charles song, a Yann Tiersen piece or a Penguin Café Orchestra compostion, Imran always gets lost in the music and takes you with him.
Imran plays a plethora of (mostly) fretted stringed instruments - banjo, lap slide, electric bass, djelignoni count among his collection. He also sings in 5 languages.
